KilamanjarOh-No!

 hi guyz

chile kicked me out 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 omg stop guys im literally cryinggggggggggggggg

anyways they gave me 6 hours to get all my things and leave the continent so i packed my bags and flew to tanzania. now why did i choose tanzania? cause its baller!!! i was doing research on countries to travel to and i saw that it was a part of the african great lakes region????? IM FROM THE AMERICAN GREAT LAKES REGION!!! and it turns out that while our great lakes were formed by glaciers scouring the land, the african great lakes were formed by a convergent boundary between the nubian and somali plates (which in and of itself were once the african plate)!!!!!! also these plates moving apart is whats forming the african rift valley, which grows isnt that cool as hell???. turns out that my FAV mountain is also here! im literally the president of the mount kilamanjaro fan club!

so i landed in julius nyerere international airport, which is the main aiport of dar es salaam, tanzanias largest city. turns out it was the old capital, but then in 1974 the capital was moved to dodoma. honestly i miss the days when dar es salaam was the capital because dodoma is literally so boringgggggg. i got here pretty late so i decided to sleep in the airport! i sent out a few pigeons to see if there were any available hotel rooms but all they saw was construction (a good majority of the city is under development).

lookit how pretty!πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«

so i had just shy of a 400 mile trek to the main event (mount kilamanjaro), so unfortunately i had to leave dar es salaam with great haste! i had been sprinting for a cool 6 hours when i stumbled across this really cute little village called korogwe. its got a population of around 55,000. i decided to check out the marketplace until the locals started screaming about a ghost!! didnt know there were ghosts around here, kinda spooookyyyyyyyyyyyyyyπŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»πŸ‘»

i spent the night on the roof of the huts and hit the road once again bright and early at 3 pmπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ anyways my penultimate stop was the city of moshi, which was around another 160 miles, but due to excitement i made it there in 4 hours!!!! now because i only had a night in moshi, i decided to live it upπŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’«πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

out of all the cities and villages ive been to in tanzania, moshi has probably been one of the prettiest. the name moshi itself comes from the smoke that comes down from mount kilamanjaro, and the city itself is nestled right at the foot of the mountain😱😱😱😱 its so COOOOOLLLLLLLL

i ended up staying awake through the night, and celebrated mk day (mount kilamanjaro day) by snacking on some fresh coffee beans! turns out this area of tanzania is known for their coffee cultivation, so of course i had to pay my caffinated respects😁😁😁

but now the time had come, the thing that i had been waiting so long to see in person...MOUNT KILAMANJAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what makes this pile of earth so interesting??? why ill tell you! see now mount kilamanjaro is actually a dormant volcano, and has three different volcanic cones. its africas tallest mountain (standing at 19,341 feet) and is the tallest free standing mountain in the world!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

gosh its just so beautifulπŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’“now normally id climb up and take in the view, but i dont want to desecrate such beauty with my filth. so ill just adore it from afar😌

thats been all for tanzania, ill see you in lagos!

Left at the Gibr-Altar

hey guyzzz im backkkkk!!!!!!!!! after my lovely trip to lagos (the police hate me thoπŸ‘Ώ), i set my sights on a geographical marvel. ITS THE STRAIT OF GIBRALTAR BABY! now this bad boy is that part of the map between the iberian peninsula (spain and portugal) and northern africa where the two continents almostttttttttttttttttttttt touch. its like theyre kissing hehehe. the only thing separating these two GIANT landmasses is a skinny little 8 mile wide strait of water. this shit is the gateway to the mediterranean sea, almost like the esophagus of the ocean.  however before i graced the strait of gibraltar with my presence, i touched down in tangier morocco. now tangier is moroccos fourth largest city with just under 1 million people. its a stunning coastal city nicknamed the blue and white city. i dont know why its named that but i mean its cute.  my first mission in tangier was to visit a catholic cathedral, because turns out tangier has christian and jewish heritage. ho...
