Into the Frying Ja-Pan

right lets get this over with. im in love with japan. i know i know everyone is but COME ON ITS COOL. now everyone knows japan, the archipelago just off off the korean peninsula and china. its known primarily for loads of culture, things like anime nintendo sushi, shit white people LOVE. its known for the bright neon lights and heavily romanticized culture, and ill be very honest i love it. like i am very much influenced by that romanticism.

now of course as much i wanted to avoid tokyo, i had to come here for the harajuku district. now this district is essentially the fashion district of tokyo, much like how akihabara (another ward in tokyo) is an otakus (anime fan) paradise. the streets of harajuku feels very youthful, and i finally feel like ive found my people fashion wise here😀 i decided to hit up a beautiful free crepe stand and chow down. apparently crepe shops and stands are all the rage so i was so happy to see one that was just handing them out! i then went to one of the many fashion stores and they were giving that stuff away too!!! i managed to walk out of there with 3 carts full!

now tokyo is fun and all, but i had to get out of there. so therefore i headed down to kyoto! now kyoto is one of the oldest cities in japan, which makes me feel so old cause like i remember when kyoto was super up and coming. kyoto is also the cultural capital of japan even though its nowhere near the largest city. now i decided to visit the torii gates, which some of you might know of all those fancy orange arch thingies that cover that whole road. its a whole aesthetic thing.

see? these bad boys. anyways a torii gate is just that style of gate in general, what sets these apart is the size and frequency of them. now i spent areound 18 hours here going down and cleaning each and every single one of them😊sure they lost their orange color but its fineeee.😀i then headed on over to kiyomizu-dera. reminds me of the buildings in camboida, mmm its so delicious.

now this is buddhist temple just east of kyoto thats around 1200 years old, and now you might not know this but i actually helped build this beaut😎😎😎THATS RIGHT IM AN ARCHITECT WOO!!! now because this building means so much to me i had to spend a while here. 2 weeks to be exact. i found my old hiding spot in the roof of the temple and snuggled right up to all my old manuscripts and drawings i etched into the floor💝

OK FINE

i love japan
